This week I attended the bTWEEN conference on interactive media in Bradford. There were some great speakers and I got to meet some very interesting people and have more of those “wouldn’t it be great if” conversations.
The big news is that according to the bTWEEN Geek-o-meter (a questionnaire - see below) I am officially 100% Geek. I thought I’d managed to walk the fine line between being ‘cool’ and ‘geek’ for most of my formative days… looks like it was all in vain and I must now accept that I am definitely not going to be a ‘cool dad’!
Find out your geek rating:

2. You regularly update your blog from your smartphone? - 20%

4. You collect cool dolls? (Kubrick / Gundam / Anime etc.) - 13%
5. You collect your old mobile phone handsets instead of trading-in or discarding? - 9%
6. You had a crush on Scully from the X-Files? - 9%

Dude, you practically ARE scully from the xfiles…
I think it’s a foregone conclusion that however hard we try to be cool, children will always find a way to make sure we feel like the uber geeks we really are!
Don’t fret. You’ll at least think you’re super cool when you hit your mid-life crisis and start wearing day-glo cyber-punk clubbing gear, again.
