Today we took the day out and went to Moseley Folk Festival which is running in Moseley Private Park all weekend. In my situation as a new dad we had to leave early to keep the little one in her dinner/bath/bed routine, but that didn’t stop us enjoying the day.
It seemed to be populated with a fair few of the blogging community in Birmingham, including Pete Ashton (doing the official photographer thing), Andy Pryke (pictured above, whose blog is more useful than Yell.com for finding the phone number of your favourite restaurant as I randomly proved the other day by Googling “cafe soya”, calling them up and then walking in only to find Andy sitting at a table), Jon Bounds (the man behind Birmingham It’s Not Shit and Up Yer Brum, Birmingham’s answer to Digg), Rich Batsford (musician and now a blogger) and plenty of Flickrites including our friend Sarah Abnett (pictured above, who was one of the people who helped lug boxes into our new place - thanks again Sarah!).
The music was of a good standard; the crowd were receptive (and surprisingly for me) even to Voices of the Seven Woods‘ folk-guitar-looperpedal-noise-drone improvisation; there were plenty of things to do whilst enjoying the music; good stuff for the kids…
All in all “Lovely with a capital L”.
If you get the chance and missed it today, pop down tomorrow. Tickets are £28 on the door.

I wanted to go along primarily because voice of the 7 woods were playing… Have been following them for a while; truly spectacular stuff. Ah well, maybe next time. Glad you enjoyed it!
